Football 2026 - Complete Guide
The 2026 Football 2026 is the largest in history, hosted across 16 cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026. For the first time ever, 48 national teams compete across 104 matches - 72 group-stage fixtures followed by a knockout bracket from the Round of 32 through to the Final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. This expansion makes the 2026 tournament the first to feature three host nations and the most geographically distributed the tournament ever staged.
Host Cities - United States
Eleven U.S. cities host matches: New York/New Jersey (Final), Los Angeles (3rd Place), Dallas, San Francisco Bay Area, Miami, Atlanta, Seattle, Houston, Boston, Philadelphia, and Kansas City. The MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey holds the Final on July 19, 2026.
Host Cities - Canada and Mexico
Canada hosts at Vancouver (BC Place) and Toronto (BMO Field). Mexico hosts in Mexico City (Estadio Azteca), Guadalajara (Estadio Akron), and Monterrey (Estadio BBVA) - making Estadio Azteca the first venue to host the tournament matches in three separate tournaments (1970, 1986, 2026).

Tournament Format
Forty-eight teams are divided into 12 groups of 4. The top two teams from each group plus the eight best third-place finishers advance to the Round of 32 - a new knockout stage that replaces the traditional Round of 16 format from previous tournaments. From there: Round of 16, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Third Place match, and the Final.
Group Stage Dates
The group stage runs from June 11 through July 2, 2026. Matches begin with the opener in Mexico City on June 11 and culminate with the final group-stage fixtures on July 2. Up to 4 matches are played simultaneously across different host cities during peak group-stage windows, requiring careful planning for multi-city travel.
Travel and Logistics
With 16 host cities across three countries and four time zones, travel planning is the defining logistical challenge of the 2026 tournament. Premium packages combine air travel, ground transfers, hotel accommodation near stadiums, and priority match-day entry.
